ANNIE
I had had a dog walker previously -- when I had a career -- and her life was so much happier than mine. She would come every day to pick up my dogs and the dogs would be hanging out her window of her minivan. And she looked so happy, and her dogs looked so happy.

So this was something I had wanted to do for a long time. Then, fortunately for me, the timing was right and I started my own business.

ANNIE IN RUNYON CANYON
One of the most important aspects of being a dog walker -- one of the most important aspects of being a responsible pet owner -- is the poop bag. There’s a lot of politics up here [in the Canyon], and if you don’t clean up your poop you are not invited back (dogs yelping in background)....

Over the years I’ve worked with Mike Meyers...Denise Richard, Spielberg, Courtney Thorne-Smith. My business has all been referral and actually Mike Meyers was my first big client. I met him at the dog park and he was so taken with what I did, because at that time there weren’t so many dog walkers...

My pet owners love their dogs so much...that I can call the biggest star or agent in Hollywood...and all I have to say is ‘Annie the Dog Walker’ and I will get right through where most people can’t get a meeting, can’t do anything. Which always makes me laugh because I think I have the black book that everybody else wants....
